Tesla (TSLA) will deliver large storage batteries to one of Japan’s biggest power storage facilities planned by Orix (IX) as demand for plants that facilitate management of power supply grows, Nikkei Asia’s Koki Izumi reports, citing sources. The U.S. automaker will supply its Megapack batteries with a combined total capacity of 548 megawatt-hours to the facility in Maibara, which will commence operations as early as 2027.
