Tesla appoints Chipotle’s John Hartung to board

Tesla (TSLA) disclosed that John Hartung was appointed to serve as a member of its board, as well as a member of the Audit Committee, effective as of June 1. A son-in-law of Hartung has been a non-executive, salaried employee of Tesla since December 2016, and does not share a household with Hartung, the company said in a regulatory filing. Hartung joined Chipotle (CMG) in 2002 and has held several leadership positions during his tenure, Tesla noted. Most recently, Hartung has been serving as President and Chief Strategy Officer, and previously served as Chief Financial and Administrative Officer. Hartung will be retiring from his executive role on June 1 and transition to a senior advisor role with Chipotle.
