Tencent’s (TCEHY) Supercell is cooperating with a U.S. government security probe investigating its parent company’s data practices, Cecilia D’Anastasio of Bloomberg reports. Supercell said operational independence is part of its shareholder agreement and Tencent has no access to player data outside of China. The Committee on Foreign Investment’s review is primarily focused on the security of U.S.-based players, looking into whether Tencent’s U.S. and Finish investments are security risks.
