Tencent Music Entertainment (TME) is in advanced talks to buy Chinese podcasting startup Ximalaya in a $2.4B deal that would accelerate its push to become “China’s answer” to Spotify (SPOT), people with knowledge of the matter told Bloomberg’s Pei Li and Dong Cao. Tencent Music plans to use a combination of cash and shares for the acquisition, said the report’s sources.
