Symphony Technology Group and Francisco Partners are among the private equity firms competing to acquire Avid Technology, Milana Vinn and Anirban Sen of Reuters report, citing people familiar with the matter. Avid started exploring options, including a sale, with Goldman Sachs earlier this year, Reuters reported in May. A deal could be completed as early as this month, sources told Reuters. Shares of Avid are up 8% to $24.83 following the report.
