The U.S. Supreme Court has kept a key element of the Obamacare law that helps guarantee that health insurers cover preventive care such as cancer screenings at no cost to patients, John Kruzel of Reuters reports. In a 6-3 decision, the justices reversed a lower court’s ruling that the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force, which under the Affordable Care Act has a major role in choosing what services will be covered, is composed of members who were not validly appointed. Publicly traded companies in the health insurance space include CVS Health (CVS), Centene (CNC), Cigna (CI), Elevance Health (ELV), Humana (HUM), Molina Healthcare (MOH) and UnitedHealth (UNH). Other companies that may be impacted by the news include Exact Sciences (EXAS), Grail (GRAL), and Guardant Health (GH).
