The Mexican government’s lawsuit that accused gunmakers including Smith & Wesson Brands (SWBI) and Sturm Ruger (RGR) of helping to funnel firearms to the county’s drug cartels. The Supreme Court ruled Mexico’s suit was barred under a 2005 U.S. law that gave the gun industry broad protection from legal liability.
