SunCoke Energy, Inc. (SXC) and Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. (CLF) have agreed to a 3-year extension of their cokemaking agreement, under which SunCoke will provide 500 thousand tons of metallurgical coke annually to Cleveland-Cliffs from its Haverhill cokemaking facility located in Franklin Furnace, Ohio. The contract commences on January 1, 2026, and key provisions of the agreement are similar to the existing Haverhill contracts. “This contract affirms the long-term partnership of SunCoke and Cleveland-Cliffs,” said Katherine Gates, President and CEO of SunCoke. “We are pleased to continue supplying coke from our Haverhill facility to Cliffs’ blast furnaces.”
