Starbucks (SBUX) is testing a protein option in its drink lineup as part of a broader overhaul of the menu that’s key to the turnaround bid led by Chief Executive Officer Brian Niccol. The trial features a sugar-free vanilla latte topped with protein banana cold foam, according to Starbucks, which is hosting coffeehouse leaders from across North America at the company’s Leadership Experience 2025 in Las Vegas this week. Protein drinks are popular at Dutch Bros (BROS), a fast-growing competitor to Starbucks.
