Spartanburg School District Five in South Carolina has partnered with Evolv (EVLV) Technologies Holdings and announced the impact advanced security screening has had on their students and staff. The findings highlight overall positive student sentiment, efficient arrival flow, and strong system usability at Byrnes High School in Duncan, South Carolina. The results combine a district-led survey conducted by the high school of more than 1,000 students, as well as feedback from school staff, contracted security personnel, and system analytics from Evolv’s platform, Evolv Insights. Spartanburg School District Five uses a combination of Evolv Express systems on its 14-school campus, and Evolv eXpedite units at their high school as part of their layered security approach to school entry. According to the survey results, the high school students indicated that the process of going through new security was easy to learn, with 94.8% saying they usually knew where to walk and where to place their belongings, and 83.5% of high school students described the routine as easy or very easy to understand. In addition, 92.2% of high school students reported feeling neutral or positive about the system, while around 57% said they felt safer knowing a safety system was in place.
