Sonos abandons plans to launch streaming video player, The Verge reports

Sonos (SONO) has canceled plans to release a streaming video player, which was set to be the company’s major hardware launch in 2025, The Verge’s Chris Welch reports. The news was announced by the company’s leadership during an all-hands call on Wednesday, Welch writes. “Pinewood” was already deep into development and has spent months in beta testing, but interim CEO Tom Conrad is prioritizing the company’s future roadmap and will assign the team behind it to other projects, according to the report.
