SoftBank is partnering with South Korea’s Cosmos Lab and DeltaX to mass produce next-gen data center batteries in Sakai, Japan at a scale of 1 GWh/year from FY27, Bloomberg’s Min-Jeong Lee reports. SoftBank, which will provide neocloud services and specialized infrastructure geared for AI training in Japan, plans to invest a total Y 1T in AI-related businesses, including data centers and batteries, in the three years through March 2029.
