Snap (SNAP) has begun to discuss ways to raise outside money to support its Spectacles project so it can compete with deeper-pocketed rivals such as Meta (META), according to The Information’s Kaya Yurieff, Erin Woo and Jemima McEvoy, citing a person with knowledge of the matter. The company has considered raising money from outside investors to fund the development of its AR glasses, but also discussed “a nuclear option” of spinning off Spectacles, according to the report.
