Scholar Rock appoints David Hallal as CEO, adds three members to leadership

Scholar Rock (SRRK) has appointed David Hallal as CEO succeeding Jay Backstrom. David Hallal has served as Chairman of the Board at Scholar Rock since 2017 and just prior to that spent more than a decade as CEO, COO, and CCO of Alexion. As part of this planned transition, Backstrom will serve as a strategic advisor. Scholar Rock also added three leaders. Akshay Vaishnaw has been named President of R&D; he was formerly President of Alnylam. R. Keith Woods has been appointed COO; he was formerly COO of argenx. Vikas Sinha is joining as CFO; he was formerly CFO of Alexion and ElevateBio.
