Closely held Sazerac recently approached Jack Daniel’s maker Brown-Forman (BF.B) (BF.A) about a potential deal, people familiar with the matter told The Wall Street Journal’s Laura Cooper. The interest comes as Brown-Forman has been in deal talks with another competitor, French spirits-maker Pernod Ricard, the report noted.
