Samsung (SSNLF) and Google (GOOGL) are set to introduce Eclipsa Audio, designed to deliver 3D audio experiences on select YouTube videos later this year, Emma Roth of The Verge reported. This format will be supported by Samsung’s 2025 lineup of TVs and soundbars. Historically, Samsung has opted against supporting Dolby (DLB) Vision HDR for dynamic HDR metadata, instead championing its own alternative, HDR10 Plus. Now, the company appears poised to make a similar move in the realm of 3D audio with this open-source initiative.
