Retractable Technologies (RVP) announced that it has withdrawn its complaint in the United States Court of International Trade against the defendants involved in the issuance of a 100% tariff on syringes and needles imported from China. As a result, the case was dismissed effective January 8, 2025. “Initial investigations into the matter convinced RTI management that although the tariffs were not properly implemented, there was no chance of RTI being granted additional time to increase domestic production without tariffs and the chances of a small company prevailing against the interests of a large monopolistic corporation at this time in history were slim to none. Meanwhile, RTI engineers have, through creative adaptation of some of our older equipment, been able to enhance the transition process, which will significantly reduce the need to import syringes. RTI management expects these efforts to diminish the risks to the continued survival of the company brought about by the recent tariffs.”
