Congress Republicans plan to introduce a $150B defense package that would give an initial $27B boost to President Donald Trump’s Golden Dome missile defense shield, Reuters’ Mike Stone reports, citing a document and a congressional aide. The bill, part of Trump’s tax cuts bill, will be in addition to the approved $886M national security budget for 2025 and will also fund the building of 14 warships and lift homeland security spending, Stone writes. The bill aims to supercharge spending on warships and missiles defense, with $29B allotted for ships and $11B for combat aircraft. Publicly traded defense contractors include BAE Systems (BAESY), Boeing (BA), General Dynamics (GD), HII (HII), L3Harris Technologies (LHX), Lockheed Martin (LMT), Northrop Grumman (NOC), RTX (RTX) and Palantir (PLTR).
