Evercore ISI lowered the firm’s price target on Prudential (PRU) to $110 from $122 and keeps an In Line rating on the shares. Prudential clarified that the Prudential of Japan sales suspension is expected to reduce 2026 pretax earnings by $300M-$350M, driven mostly by expenses, with the drag easing in 2027 but likely lingering for 2-3 years before a full recovery, the analyst tells investors in a research note. While painful, the voluntary suspension and clear disclosure are viewed as constructive steps that reduce uncertainty and allow an earlier shift toward retention efforts, the firm adds.
