Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt announced during a media briefing at the White House that President Trump has signed 17 letters to the CEOs of pharmaceutical companies, including one that is being sent to Eli Lilly (LLY). The letters call on the companies to take action to lower prices for Americans. The letters call on the drugmakers to take action within the next 60 days with the intent to lower drug prices, Leavitt noted. Other publicly traded large-cap drugmakers include AstraZeneca (AZN), Bristol Myers (BMY), GSK (GSK), Johnson & Johnson (JNJ), Merck (MRK), Novartis (NVS), Pfizer (PFE), Roche (RHHBY) and Sanofi (SNY).
