Poet Technologies appoints Sohail Khan as director

Poet Technologies (POET) appointed Sohail Khan as director and member of the Corporate Governance & Nominating Committee.Khan’s appointment was effective as of Monday, July 7 and, along with the incumbent five directors of the Company, he will serve until the next annual meeting of shareholders of the company or until his successor is duly elected or appointed. Khan has negotiated sale/purchase of multiple companies as CEO and Head of Strategy at Agere Systems. Most recently, Khan served as EVP, Wideband Gap Electronics and President of SiC, divisions of Coherent Corp. He was a member of the Board of Directors of LightPath Technologies for 16 years, Managing Partner of K5 Innovations LLC, and President & CEO of ViXS Systems. The size of POET’s Board was reduced to five members with the retirement of Chris Tsiofas, Chair of the Audit Committee, who decided not to stand for re-election at the recent Annual and Special Meeting of the Shareholders on June 27. Following the appointment of Mr. Khan the Board will consist of six members. In connection with his appointment to the board, Khan was awarded a total of 21,200 RSUs which will vest on the first anniversary of the grant.
