PlayStation Studios-published games on PC gaming platform Steam have generated gross revenues of over $1.5B since Sony (SONY) started releasing PlayStation games on the platform, according to Alinea Analytics’ Rhys Elliot. Valve, the owner of Steam, takes a 30% cut of purchases on the platform, with that figure lowering to 25% after $10M in sales and 20% after $50M, with Elliott calculating the revenue cuts for PlayStation amounting to $1.2B overall, with Valve taking over $350M. 2024’s “Helldivers II” is the best-selling PlayStation-published game on Steam at 12.7M units, followed by “Horizon Zero Dawn” at 4.5M, “God of War” at 4.2M, “Days Gone” at 3.4M, and “Marvel’s Spider-Man” at 2.7M, Elliott notes.
