Pennsylvania American Water (AWK), a subsidiary of American Water, was awarded over $9.5M in funding from the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority, or PENNVEST. The funding includes a $5.57M grant and a $3.96M low-interest loan. The funds will support a lead service line replacement project in New Castle, Lawrence County, replacing approximately 550 lines. The loan term is 1% for 20 years.
