At least two fistfights broke out between PDD Holdings (PDD) employees and Chinese regulators at the e-commerce company’s Shanghai premises, according to people familiar with the matter, Bloomberg reports. The altercations involved PDD staff and officials from the State Administration for Market Regulation, who were investigating reports of fraudulent deliveries on PDD’s platform. A spokesperson for Pinduoduo, PDD’s Chinese operation, said the account of the fistfights “is false and bears no relation to reality,” while the SAMR didn’t respond to a request for comment.
