Commenting on reports of a potential bid for for the business, Papa John’s (PZZA) said it was not commenting on “any of the market speculation or market rumors.” President and CEO Todd Penegor said rumors have been “a constant” in the 18 months he’s been in his role, “We’ve always had some kind of rumor out there around the brand. And we’re really focused on being the best Papa John’s that we can be and the best pizza makers in the business.” Comments taken from the UBS Global Consumer and Retail Conference.
