OpenAI plans to use chips designed by startup Cerebras Systems to power its popular ChatGPT chatbot, the companies said Wednesday, according to The Wall Street Journal’s Kate Clark and Berber Jin. OpenAI has committed to purchase up to 750 megawatts of computing power over three years from Cerebras in a deal worth more than $10B, according to the report, citing people familiar with the matter.
