The National Transportation Safety Board, NTSB, has called for a range of aviation safety reforms following the review of a midair collision involving an Army Black Hawk helicopter and American Airlines (AAL) regional jet last year, Christopher Kuo of The Wall Street Journal reports. The NTSB concluded a series of failures contributed to the accident at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, calling on the Federal Aviation Administration to implement new training for its air-traffic controllers and improve aircraft collision-avoidance systems.
