PLAYING THIS WEEKEND: Among the notable new content to stream this weekend is sports comedy series “Stick” on Apple TV+ (AAPL) starring Owen Wilson and Marc Maron. Meanwhile, Netflix (NFLX) subscribers can catch season three of comedy-drama series “Ginny & Georgia” as well as season 2 of Shane Gillis-driven comedy series “Tires,” while Peacock (CMCSA) users can check out the latest season of reality dating show “Love Island.” Additionally, Hulu subscribers will be able to watch adult animated sci-fi film “Predator: Killer of Killers,” based on the “Predator” film franchise.
REDSTONE: Paramount Global (PARA) chair and controlling shareholder Shari Redstone has been diagnosed with thyroid cancer and underwent surgery last month, James B. Stewart, Michael M. Grynbaum, and Benjamin Mullin of The New York Times Trump against CBS News and is awaiting federal approval of an $8B merger with Skydance Media.
CBS/GRAY: Meanwhile, Paramount subsidiary CBS and Gray Media (GTN) announced that they have entered into an agreement that renews 52 of Gray’s existing 53 CBS network affiliations. As part of the agreement, the renewing CBS affiliates will continue to be available locally to subscribers on Paramount+ and widely distributed across all traditional and virtual MVPD platforms. Effective August 16, 2025, Gray’s Atlanta station WANF will cease its affiliation with the CBS Network and thereafter operate an independent television station hyper-focused on the Atlanta market.
FOX/VOHRA: Puja Vohra has (FOXA) as Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Vice President, Advertising Sales reporting to Jeff Collins, President, Advertising Sales, Marketing and Brand Partnerships. In this newly created role, Vohra will be responsible for developing and executing ad sales marketing strategies spanning the FOX portfolio which consists of FOX Entertainment, FOX News, FOX Sports and Tubi. Her focus will be on positioning the collective value proposition across different offerings, creating unified messaging, and enabling sales teams to effectively sell the entire range of content, identifying customer needs and market trends within various segments of the portfolio. Vohra joins FOX from Paramount Global where she most recently served as Executive Vice President, Marketing for Paramount+.
FUBO/DAZN: Fubo (FUBO) and DAZN announced a multi-year integrated partnership where both sports streaming companies will reciprocally distribute their owned-and-operated linear channels on each other’s U.S. platforms. Starting today, June 3rd, Fubo is home to DAZN’s exclusive boxing and MMA events through the launch of the new linear channel, DAZN1. DAZN is launching Fubo Sports, Fubo’s free ad-supported streaming TV channel, featuring live sporting events, documentaries, and movies. The partnership also enables Fubo to offer its customers DAZN’s live Pay-Per-View events.
NETFLIX/UBS: Earlier this week, UBS raised the firm’s price target on Netflix to $1,450 from $1,150 and maintained a Buy rating on the shares. Solid viewership, a strong pipeline, and a favorable industry backdrop is driving higher conviction, the analyst tells investors in a research note. UBS believes secular trends and competitive dynamics remain supportive of Netflix’s ability to drive stronger monetization and operating leverage.
