Nintendo raises prices for Switch 2 consoles in Japan, U.S., Canada, Europe

Nintendo (NTDOY) announced hat it has decided to revise the prices of the following products and services. In light of changes in market conditions, and after considering the global business outlook, Nintendo will revise the manufacturer’s suggested retail prices of the Nintendo Switch 2 system and Nintendo Switch systems in Japan as follows: The Switch 2 Japanese-Language System, which is available only in Japan, will go up to 59,980 yen from 49,980 yen. Addionally, in Japan, the Switch OLED model will go up to 47,980 yen from 37,980 yen, the Switch Lite will go up tot 29,980 yen from 21,978 yen, and the standard Switch will go up to 43,980 yen from 32,978 yen. Such price increases in Japan will be effective May 25, 2026. Given that the impact of various changes in market conditions is expected to extend over the medium to long term, price revisions are also planned outside Japan as described: in the U.S., the Nintendo Switch 2 will go up in price to $499.99 from $449.99; in Canada, the Swith 2 will go up tot C$679.99 from C$629.99; and in Europe, the Switch 2 will go up to EUR499.99 from EUR469.99. These price revisions in the U.S., Canada, and Europe will be effective September 1, 2026. Nintendo is also increasing prices for Nintendo Switch Online and NSO+Expansion Pack subscriptions in Japan.
