Nintendo’s (NTDOY) latest Switch 2 exclusive title “Donkey Kong Bananza” was the best-selling new game release and second best-selling game overall in Japan for the week of July 14-20, opening at nearly 128,000 retail units sold in the country, according to data from Famitsu. “Mario Kart World,” another Switch 2 exclusive,” sold 135,370 units during the week, bringing its total sales in Japan to nearly 1.5M. Other top-sellers in Japan for the week were Bandai Namco’s (NCBDY) “Tamagotchi Plaza,” Microsoft’s (MSFT) “Minecraft,” and other Nintendo titles “Mario Kart 8 Deluxe,” “Animal Crossing: New Horizons,” and “Super Mario Party Jamboree.”
