Nevada has notified the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit of the recent Massachusetts ruling that granted a preliminary injunction blocking Kalshi from offering sports-related event contracts in the Commonwealth, Gambling Insider’s Chavdar Vasilev reports. In a filing, the Nevada Attorney General’s Office, on behalf of the Nevada Gaming Control Board, presented the Massachusetts ruling as a supplemental authority in Kalshi’s pending appeal, contending that the Massachusetts court’s reasoning directly undermines Kalshi’s request for an injunction pending appeal in Nevada, the author says. According to Nevada, the ruling confirms Kalshi will not likely succeed on the merits of its claim, the author notes. Publicly traded companies in the space include Boyd Gaming (BYD), Caesars (CZR), Churchill Downs (CHDN), DraftKings (DKNG), Flutter Entertainment (FLUT), Gan Limited (GAN), Genius Sports (GENI), Las Vegas Sands (LVS), MGM Resorts (MGM), Penn Entertainment (PENN), Rush Street Interactive (RSI), Sportradar (SRAD) and Wynn Resorts (WYNN).
