Netflix unveils new user interface, design for TV experience

Netflix (NFLX) Chief Product Officer Eunice Kim and Chief Technology Officer Elizabeth Stone unveiled Netflix’s new TV experience, which includes “a simpler, easier, and more intuitive design” to help subscribers “easily find something great to watch.” “The new Netflix TV experience is still the one you know and love – just better,” said Kim. Stone said, “One of the reasons I joined (and why I stay) is because this company has always had a unique ability to marry incredible tech with incredible entertainment. That’s our superpower. Obviously, everything starts with great shows and movies that people love. But if you think about all of the areas where Netflix has a big advantage – our reach, our recommendations, our fandom – tech enables all those things.” In the coming weeks and months, users across the world will get to experience the updated TV homepage for themselves. New features include: more information for discoverability; more visible shortcuts; better real-time recommendations, and; a new homepage with a “clean and modern design that better reflects the elevated experience you’ve come to expect on Netflix.”
