Nestle (NSRGY) investors have called for chairman Paul Bulcke to step down followign the departure of the second CEO in just over a year, with many blaming Bulcke for the company’s instability and poor performance, Madeleine Speed and Mercedes Ruehl of The Financial Times reports. Last week, CEO Laurent Freixe, who was appointed by Bulcke one year ago, was fired following an undisclosed romantic relationship with a direct subordinate. Shareholders told the journal that the appointment of Freixe and the way investigations into his conduct were handled exacerbated concerns over Nestle’s governance and Bulcke’s decision making.
