NBCUniversal launching new cable sports channel, NBCSN, WSJ reports

Comcast’s (CMCSK) (CMCSA) NBCUniversal is launching a new sports cable channel, NBCSN, The Wall Street Journal’s Joe Flint reports. Google’s (GOOGL) YouTube TV and Comcast’s Xfinity platform will carry NBCSN. In addition to the NBA and other sports that are also streamed on NBCU’s Peacock service, NBCSN will also carry sports talk programming like “The Dan Patrick Show.” NBCU is wrapping up a deal to carry Major League Baseball on its NBC broadcast network and Peacock beginning next season, and some of those games will also be on NBCSN, people familiar with the matter say.
