On March 25, the NATO Communications and Information Agency and Palantir (PLTR) Technologies finalized the acquisition of the Palantir Maven Smart System NATO for employment within NATO’s Allied Command Operations. marking a significant advancement in the modernization of NATO’s warfighting capabilities. “NCIA is pleased to team up with Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europeand Palantir to deliver MSS NATO to the Warfighter, providing customized state-of-the-art AI capabilities to the Alliance, and empowering our forces with the tools required on the modern battlefield to operate effectively and decisively,” said Ludwig Decamps, NCIA General Manager. The MSS NATO capability empowers commanders and warfighters to leverage cutting-edge artificial intelligence (safely and securely in core military operations. By providing a common data-enabled warfighting capability to the Alliance, through a wide range of AI applications – from large language models to generative and machine learning – MSS NATO enhances intelligence fusion and targeting, battlespace awareness and planning, and accelerated decision-making. It is expected that ACO will begin using the new system within the next 30 days.
