President Donald Trump has announced a new investigation into critical mineral imports and imposed steep tariffs on Chinese imports. In retaliation, China has increased duties on U.S. goods, further straining international trade relations. International markets have mirrored these concerns. European indices, such as Germany’s DAX and France’s CAC 40, have recorded losses, while Asian markets have also suffered, with Hong Kong’s Hang Seng sliding 1.9% and Japan’s Nikkei down 1% .
