The Pohlad family, owners of the Minnesota Twins, have retained investment bank Allen & Company to explore a sale of the MLB franchise, multiple people familiar with the matter told Sportico’s Scott Soshnick and Kurt Badenhausen. According to Sportico’s most recent valuations, the Twins are worth $1.7B, which ranks 19 out of 30 among MLB teams, the report noted. Publicly traded owners of sports franchises include the Liberty Braves Group (BATRA), MSG Sports (MSGS) and Manchester United (MANU).
