Meta Platforms (META) will lay off “a few hundred people” across the company on Wednesday, in cuts that will affect staffers in Reality Labs – the division behind its hardware platforms and wearables – as well as across its social media teams, recruiting operations, and a smaller number in sales, according to The Information, citing two people familiar with the matter. A Meta spokesperson is quoted as having said: “Teams across Meta regularly restructure or implement changes to ensure they’re in the best position to achieve their goals. Where possible, we are finding other opportunities for employees whose positions may be impacted.”
