Meta Platforms (META) is creating a new applied AI engineering organization in its Reality Labs division to help bolster the company’s superintelligence efforts, according to an internal memo that was viewed by The Wall Street Journal, Meghan Bobrowsky reports. The new teams will be led by Maher Saba in the Reality Labs division, which houses the company’s metaverse and AI glasses efforts, and reports up to Meta Chief Technology Officer Andrew Bosworth. The teams are aiming for an ultra-flat structure of up to 50 employees to one manager, the memo said.
