Meta Platforms (META) is in search of exclusive Hollywood content for a premium virtual-reality headset it plans to release next year and has spoken to brands including Disney (DIS) and A24, as well as smaller production companies, Ben Fritz and Jessica Toonkel of Wall Street Journal report, citing people familiar with the matter. Meta hopes the content will attract people to the VR device it plans to launch next year that would compete with Apple’s (AAPL) Vision Pro, the Journal reports. The new device is more powerful than the Meta Quest VR headsets now available, with higher-fidelity video, the paper adds.
