AGCM, the Italian Competition Authority, ordered Meta Platforms (META) to suspend a policy excluding rival AI chatbots from messaging on WhatsApp, Adria Calatayud of The Wall Street Journal reports. The authority believes Meta’s current policy and conduct may harm competition. The company plans to appeal the decision, arguing the emergence of AI chatbots on its programming interface may put a strain on the systems.
