Meta said it is halting teens’ access to its AI characters worldwide across all its apps, TechCrunch’s Ivan Mehta reports. The Instagram parent told TechCrunch that it is not abandoning such efforts entirely but wants to develop an updated version of AI characters for teens. The action comes days before a case against the company is slated to go to trial in New Mexico, in which Meta is accused of not doing enough to protect children from sexual exploitation on its apps, Mehta notes.
