Meta researchers have designed a wristband that enables a user to control a computer simply by moving their hand, the New York Times’ Cade Metz reports, citing Meta VP of research Thomas Reardon. Users can move a cursor across a laptop screen with a turn of the wrist or open up an app on their computer by tapping their thumb against their forefinger. The technology reads electric signals that pulse through a person’s muscles when they move their fingers.
