Meta’s latest large language model for AI, Llama 4, is running behind schedule as the company has pushed back the release date of Llama 4 at least twice and could do so again, two people familiar with the matter told The Information. Currently, Meta is aiming to release Llama 4 later this month, said the sources, who indicated that one reason for the delay is that Llama 4 didn’t perform as well on technical benchmarks as Meta had hoped, particularly on reasoning and math tasks, during its development, the report added.
