A Meta-backed data center campus is seeking $3B in construction loans for an off-grid project, Michelle Chan, Antoine Gara, Eric Platt, and Rafe Rosner-Uddin of The Financial Times reports. The debt package involves an agreement for a data center that would generate its own power on site with natural gas supplies, people familiar with the matter told the Times. The campus is known as “Project Walleye” and will be located in Ohio.
