MercadoLibre (MELI) plans to boost investments in Brazil by 48% in local currency this year, with a focus on logistics, technology and marketing, and plans to hire an additional 14,000 people, Bloomberg’s Daniel Cancel reported this week. According to an e-mailed statement, the company plans to spend $5.8B on its Brazil operations in 2025, while its staff in the country will reach 50,000 by the end of the year.
