Manus’s cofounders, Xiao Hong, Ji Yichao and Zhang Tao, are exploring ways to fulfill Beijing’s demand to unwind a takeover by Meta Platforms (META), Bloomberg News reports. The company is in discussions about a round of funding that would at least match the $2B Meta paid to acquire Manus, people familiar with the matter said. If successful, the next step would involve setting Manus up as a Chinese joint venture with those backers, one source added.
