JPMorgan raised the firm’s price target on Magna (MGA) to $53 from $48 and keeps an Overweight rating on the shares as part of a Q3 preview for the autos group. The firm upped estimates for the auto suppliers, its preferred sector segment, due to stronger global light vehicle production and favorable trends in currencies and commodities. JPMorgan also lowered estimates for rental car companies citing more aggressive pricing and for tiremakers citing a rise in low cost imports. Among the auto makers, the firm’s top pick is General Motors (GM). Its top ideas among the suppliers include Dana (DAN), BorgWarner (BWA) and Aptiv (APTV).
