Lululemon (LULU) has filed a lawsuit against Costco Wholesale (COST), accusing the retailer of selling cheaper, unauthorized imitations of some of its clothing items and infringing on its patents. Lululemon said Costco has “unlawfully traded” on the brand’s “reputation, goodwill and sweat equity by selling unauthorized and unlicensed apparel employing knockoff, infringing versions” of its products.
