JPMorgan is looking for no change in policy at the conclusion of next week’s FOMC meeting and for no substantive change to the post-meeting statement, adding that the firm expects the main message from Fed Chair Powell’s press conference to be that the Committee is well positioned to wait for greater clarity before making any changes to policy. After this morning there is no need to change the description of labor market conditions as “solid,” the economist added.
